Update

Burnt leaves with Dan, who came to visit.

Drove to Airport in Jacksonville, FL at 0300 hours today - and back.

Had the well installed.

Exorcised the popcorn! Laundry ceiling complete. Room ready for cabinets.

Tore off half the wall in the laundry because there was no room at the top of the junction box for the well's power line.

Climbed through attic to drill new hole and route new wire.

Update

-Finished my make-shift tool box.

-Finished the Garage ceiling.

-Walled-in the final wall of the storage room. Painted. Turned around the attic-access ladder.

-Found cabinets at Habitat for cheap-cheap.

-Painted the ones designated for the laundry room.

-Pulled out the wire shelving in the laundry room, which necessitated fixing the walls, which necessitated pulling down the wall paper border, which necessitated repainting, which eventually led me to the conclusion that popcorn ceiling is the devil and must be exorcised...

-Couldn't find the septic. Took the lead-guy to come out. Turns out the septic is right off the patio: monkey-wrenching my eventual plans for an addition.

-Danced a jig for Ali in my cover-alls.

Photogenic New Year

We're spooling up to dive into the new year, work, and all other pageantry that will take place after we get back to reality. The trip home was great. We spent two days in the country, somewhere between Maes and Rushville. I now want to move to the country when we return to the North. There's a silence out there that soothes, and a beauty that's both natural and accidental. I took a rather long walk around the pond and across the creek (almost fell off the fallen log) and took plenty of good pictures. It's easy to build your photographer-confidence out there. Even the decomposition of things is a spectacle. And I believe Alison's starting to like her new digital camera more: it's got all types of features that we didn't know about at first. The below (and on flickr) were taken with her Kodak 883.
