It's difficult to sleep when Alison's not next to me. Of course, I can fall asleep easily under normal circumstances, when I know she'll atleast be coming to bed. But the house is so empty right now. I tried to sleep in the middle of the bed, so that it gets worn in like each of our canoes on either side of the middle, but it wasn't comfortable. I woke up at midnight in my usual canoe.
I don't spend much time here, and the house is lifeless; it's almost just a place where my cats live. They're so excited to see me when I am here.
I've got a lot of car maintenance to do this weekend, (brakes and oil, wash and wax), before I drive up next week. And speaking of driving, I don't think I'd go if I didn't owe mom's kayaks to her. Holy cow, 3.39 for gas in Indiana? I am contemplating filling a huge plastic tank at 2.88 on base and just whipping it out when I need gas along the way. Sorry anyone who lives in California. That's just the price of happy cows.
